Microsoft Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Specialist

The Role

As a subject matter expert, the Microsoft Cloud Platform and Infrastructure Specialist will lead in the design, build and optimisation of effective cloud solutions with Azure for our clients in the mid to large sized market.

You will lead the technical pre-sales process in conjunction with the sales team and deliver post-sales solutions on the Azure platform. In this hands-on role, you will be called to consult, design, develop and deliver engagements relating to Azure IaaS and PaaS.

Key duties of the role will include:

  • A demonstrable commitment to Satalyst’s values and to realising our vision
  • Leading the technical sales process for Azure infrastructure and platform solutions
  • Engaging with business leaders to complete reviews of current state architectures, understanding their business requirements to provide the best solutions to meet future business requirements
  • Define infrastructure and platform solutions to meet the required functional, operational, and deployment requirements through the solution lifecycle
  • Developing detailed technical proposals that meet customer objectives and budget
  • Pre and post sales preparation of technical documentation
  • Managing simple project lifecycle stages including planning, forecasting, design, scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, change, stakeholder management
  • Pro-actively seeking opportunities to review solution architecture then put forward and implement proposals for improvement
  • Keeping up to date with latest technical advances and best practices in Microsoft’s cloud services
  • Scheduled operations activity such as timesheets, housekeeping and reporting
  • Attend onsite consultancy visits to clients when required

What we want:

Essential

  • 10 years’ IT industry experience with proven capability in a consulting capacity to SMB and Enterprise
  • Proven experience in:
    • Designing, programming, implementing, automating and monitoring Microsoft Azure solutions
    • Active Directory, security and identity management
    • Implementing and monitoring Azure cloud solutions including hybrid solutions
    • DevOps technologies, provisioning Azure resources and designing highly resilient workloads running on Azure
    • Scripting – PowerShell and ARM templates
  • Commercial experience with tenders and quoting for professional services
  • Experience working in an Agile environment or sound knowledge of understanding Agile methodologies
  • Ability to clearly communicate technical information to less technical audiences
  • Ability to liaise and provide consultation services to clients, potential clients and business stakeholders
  • Ability to prepare quality written correspondence, and internal and external-facing documentation
  • Ability to lead successful workshops and drive client meetings
  • Microsoft Certified Professional Azure (MCSE /MCSA)
  • Undertake and complete Microsoft certification exams

Highly desirable

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline
  • Microsoft Partner Seller P-TSP
  • Technical leadership, mentoring and coaching of team members
  • Experience in managing, running and growing a successful team
  • Experience with other Microsoft Online Services such as Office 365, Dynamics 365 and SharePoint
  • Exposure to other operating systems is a plus (UNIX/Linux, MAC OS);
