Systems Engineer (Azure/O365)

The Role

A fantastic opportunity for someone with varied skills across the Microsoft stack wanting to fast track their cloud career.

You will work in a small team providing technical support and ensuring our clients’ cloud environments are well maintained, enhanced and have optimal performance. In addition to BAU activities, you will also be involved in delivering small projects involving migration and deployments in Azure and Office 365.

Key duties of the role will include:

  • Ensuring Satalyst’s and our client’s cloud platforms are available, secure, and performing
  • Managing, monitoring and reporting on client’s Azure environments
  • Combination of small-sized projects and BAU work with an Azure and O365 focus
  • Configuration, administration, and migration plus the on-going support services of Azure and O365 environments
  • Providing incident and problem resolution for Satalyst’s clients
  • Attend onsite visits to clients when required
  • On call and after-hours support may be required

What we’re looking for:

Essential

  • Strong experience in IT infrastructure with a focus on the Microsoft technology stack
  • Experience in Azure and Office 365 (PaaS / IaaS)
  • The ability to learn new technologies quickly
  • Ability to prepare quality written correspondence, and internal and external-facing documentation
  • Willingness to learn and upskill
  • Willingness to take Microsoft competency exams

Highly desirable

  • Customer facing experience in professional services or similar is a bonus
  • Knowledge of scripting languages for automated service deployments (e.g. PowerShell)
  • A tertiary qualification and/or industry certification

Soft skills

  • Creative and tenacious problem solver, who will think beyond the status quo and will own issues until full resolution
  • High energy level coupled with a desire to take on responsibility
