The Role

The role of Technical Specialist and Customer Success Manager is an important position responsible for leading and growing our Cloud Support and Optimisation offering. It is a hands-on role that not only requires technical skill but a strong consultative approach and success in delivering cloud migration and adoption projects.

In this role, you will be responsible for building, managing and mentoring a small team of support consultants to deliver highly responsive and exceptional customer service that exceeds our clients’ expectations. You will ensure our clients’ cloud environments are well maintained, enhanced and have optimal performance. In addition to business as usual activities, you will also take ownership of small projects involving migrating and deploying in Azure and Office 365. You will also provide input into the presales process and advise on defining, architecting and implementing cloud infrastructure solutions.

  • Managing, monitoring and reporting on client’s Azure environments
  • Providing internal technical support including networking, installing and configuring software for the company’s technology stack
  • Configuration, administration, and migration plus on-going support of multiple Azure and O365 environments
  • Managing simple project lifecycle stages including: planning, forecasting, design, scope, schedule, budget, risk, quality, change, stakeholder management
  • Providing ongoing support services, incident and problem resolution for Satalyst’s clients
  • Technical account management for our support client portfolio
  • Pro-actively seeking opportunities to review solution architecture then put forward and implement proposals for improvement
  • Writing and maintaining technical and process documentation
  • Keeping up to date with latest technical advances and best practices in Microsoft’s cloud services
  • Scheduled operations activity such as timesheets, housekeeping and reporting
  • Attend onsite visits to clients when required
  • On call and after-hours support may be required

What we want:

Essential

  • 3+ years in a Senior System Engineering role or similar focusing on Windows and Microsoft cloud and infrastructure technologies
  • Proven experience in:
    • Planning and successfully executing migrations to Azure and Office 365
    • Managing and building environments in Azure and configuring underlying services
    • Infrastructure and data centre transition / migration
    • Azure Site Recovery
    • Disaster Recovery modelling and business continuity planning and implementation
    • Active Directory (both on-premises and Azure), Group Policy and File Sharing
    • Azure backup and restore systems
    • Microsoft Office 365 user administration
    • Scripting experience for automated service deployments (e.g. JSON / Azure Templates, PowerShell etc.)
  • Experience working with both project and business as usual related environments
  • Ability to liaise and provide consultation services to clients, potential clients and business stakeholders
  • Ability to prepare quality written correspondence, and internal and external-facing documentation
  • Potential to lead successful workshops and drive client meetings
  • Undertake and complete Microsoft certification exams

Highly desirable

  • Experience in managing, running and growing a successful team
  • Experience with other Microsoft Online Services such as Dynamics 365 and SharePoint
  • Exposure to other operating systems is a plus (UNIX/Linux, MAC OS);
  • MCSE certification
  • Microsoft Certified Professional Azure and Office 365 (MCSE /MCSA Preferred)
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, or similar qualification.
