WESTERN AUSTRALIA’S PREMIER CYCLING TEAM IS READY TO CHANGE GEARS

With the end of the 2015 National Road Series, Navitas Satalyst Racing Team is looking forward to competing in 2016 under a new name and with a rejuvenated management team and rider list.

For the 2016 season, the team will be known as Satalyst Verve Racing Team with existing sponsor Satalyst continuing its major sponsorship. Verve Cycling has been involved with the team for several years and is increasing involvement by becoming a joint naming rights sponsor.

The founding team manager, Wayne Evans, will step down after 8 years in the top job. He is replaced by Todd Elliott, Managing Director of Satalyst Pty Ltd. The new management team will include John O’Connor, Adrian Spinelli, Lachlan McCrea and Shaun Hodges. Wayne Evans will remain in an advisory role.

Todd Elliott: “I look forward to continuing the vision set by the founders of the team to develop Australian, particularly young Western Australian, bike riders to achieve success at national and international level. We will continue to provide our riders with pathways to establish a career as a professional cyclist.”

“In 2015, we achieved an NRS team ranking of 6th out of 31 registered teams. We hope to achieve a top 5 result in 2016. We are excited about the prospects for our team which will include an expanded rider list and youth development team.”

Since the team was established in 2008, it has developed a host of talented riders that have gone on to win and place at national and world championships, as well as competing in cycling’s grand tours and Olympics. Notable riders for the team include Luke Durbridge, Travis Meyer, Anthony Giacoppo, Sam Welsford, Melissa Hoskins and Josie Tomic.

In the coming weeks, the Satalyst Verve Racing Team is excited to be announcing a number of new and returning sponsors in addition to new rider signings.
