Advanced Analytics Practice Lead

Satalyst is seeking an Analytics Practice Lead for our Advance Analytics and Data Platform services to lead and develop the team while maintaining a hands-on Technical Lead role. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate experience with the Microsoft Azure Data Analytics Platform and team leadership. Ideally, you will also have experience delivering solutions and insights with exposure to Microsoft HDInsight (Hadoop, Spark), Azure Data Factory, Azure Machine Learning, Microsoft Cognitive services and Cortana Intelligence suite of products.

The position provides the opportunity to work closely with a Microsoft Azure MVP within a Microsoft Gold Cloud Partner organisation. Satalyst is building a strong reputation in Azure and IoT solution delivery.

The role will require you to work across multiple client projects over time providing technical leadership and support to team members and development partners.

The role being offered is a permanent position with the Satalyst team.

Your Profile

To excel in this role, you will have the following:

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in data analytics and reporting
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate succinctly at all level
  • Ability to provide technical leadership to cross functional team member
  • Comfortable in complex and ambiguous organisational setting
  • Creativity, ability to structure, analyse and present complex ideas, data and insight
  • Highly organised with the ability to prioritise workloads

  • Confidence, good relationship skills and be an enthusiastic team player
  • Completion of tertiary qualifications in Information Technology

Technical Skills

  • 5+ years experience with Microsoft BI tool set
  • Extensive experience in designing and delivering Data Warehouse, Business Intelligence, and Analytics solutions
  • Experience¬†in both Multidimensional and Tabular (Power Pivot) structures
  • Experience with reporting technologies such as SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS), Power BI, Tableau, DataZen
  • Experience with¬†Azure SQL Database, Azure SQL Date Warehouse, Azure Data Lake
  • Experience with Microsoft HDInsight (Hadoop, Spark), Azure Data Factory, Azure Machine Learning, Microsoft Cognitive services and Cortana Intelligence suite of products

  • Building up the overall Advanced Analytics capability including involvement in hiring, training and mentoring staff in the Data & Advanced Analytics area
  • Provide technical awareness and education both internally and for Satalyst customers on emerging and mainstream technologies through formal and informal methods
  • The delivery of high quality software solutions
